dc.description.abstractThe Mu Tianzi Zhuan, which translates as the "Chronicle of [King] Mu, Son-of Heaven," is considered the oldest surviving account of travel in Chinese literary history. It describes the travels undertaken by King Mu in the tenth century BC. This German translation is the first translation into a Western language in over forty years and is accompanied by a comprehensive critical apparatus.
