dc.description.abstractJohannes Geiler von Kaysersberg (1445-1510), the best-known 15th century German preacher, delivered his sermons to an enthusiastic Augsburg audience in 1488. These sermons were preserved in the form of sermon transcripts, and have been handed down in five versions, four of which have been synoptically edited using the tradition-historical method the fifth, later version is presented in a complete critical apparatus of variants.
