dc.description.abstractThis dissertation contains an analysis of the legal gambling "rulebook" in Italy, starting from the origins to the latest regulatory and fiscal updates. The dissertation then proceeds to quickly examine the history of the different national gambling markets, highlighting the evolutions that have developed over the last fifteen years or so, also thanks to IT and technological innovations. In conclusion, this overview will show different types of control in the gambling sector, aimed to the common goals of protecting the citizens, the economic operators and tax revenues.
