The text reconstructs, in a biographical key, the stretch in which RDP's research intertwined with that of the author of this article. What the two researches had in common was the in-depth study of the idea of dependent work in light of the transformations that the work is currently going through. An in-depth study carried out by RDP also on the basis of the theses developed by Bruno Trentin. According to the author, these theses, together with others, such as those of A. Sen and M. Nussbaum, contributed to RDP placing the theme of freedom in work as the fundamental issue of the ongoing transformations.
