Seismic soil structure interaction of navigation locks

            Maltidis, Georgios (2017)
This work handles the seismic soil- and water structure interaction of navigation locks in the field of elastodynamics. The investigation is based on numerical analysis with the finite element method. The findings extend ...

Selenium Isotope Studies in Plants - Development and Validation of a Novel Geochemical Tool and its Application to Organic Samples

            Banning, Helena (2017)
Selenium (Se), being an essential nutrient and a toxin, enters the food chain mainly via plants. Selenium isotope signatures were proved to be an excellent redox tracer, making it a promising tool for the exploration of ...

Selenium Transfer between Kaolinite or Goethite Surfaces, Nutrient Solution and Oryza Sativa

            Nothstein, Alexandra Kelly (2016)
The aim of this study was to describe and quantify Se transfer at the interface between soil and plant. For this purpose, three Se reservoirs were defined: soil, soil solution and plant, represented by kaolinite or goethite, ...

Selection strategy and modification of layer silicates for technical applications

            Steudel, Annett (2009)
In this study, samples were selected with respect to their layer charge and morphology. Sixteen bulk materials were pre-selected, which contained either swellable clay minerals or non-swelling clay minerals. One topic of ...

Selektive katalysierte Reduktion von NOx mittels NH3 an Fe-modifizierten BEA-Zeolithen

            Balle, Peter (2011)

            Haag, Stefan (2018)
Diesel-hybrid propulsion systems for railcars are able to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in relation to conventional diesel railcars. To design such a propulsion system requires the use of simulation and experimental ...

SAR Prediction and SAR Management for Parallel Transmit MRI

            Homann, Hanno (2012)
Parallel transmission enables control of the RF field in high-field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). However, the approach has also caused concerns about the specific absorption rate (SAR) in the patient body. The present ...

Silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) electro-optic modulators for high-speed and power-efficient communications

            Wolf, Stefan (2018)
Silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) modulators add a highly efficient nonlinear organic electro-optic cladding material to the silicon photonic platform, thereby enabling efficient electro-optic modulation. In this book, the ...

Silicon-organic hybrid devices for high-speed electro-optic signal processing

            Lauermann, Matthias (2018)
Among the various elements of the silicon photonics platform, electro-optic IQ modulators play an important role. In this book, silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) integration is used to realize electro-optic IQ modulators for ...
