Abstract

The essay intends to examine the comparative approach adopted since the beginning of Slavic studies in Italy, in particular by scholars such as Giovanni Maver, Ettore Lo Gatto and Arturo Cronia who succeeded each other teaching Slavic Philology at the University of Padua. The European reference models of those studies are also highlighted.
