Abstract

This volume takes advantage of recent developments within Medieval Studies and explore the entangled pasts and presents of the Nordic medieval period and colonialism. Through a diverse range of interdisciplinary approaches from archaeology, literature to historiography, the chapters offer insights into themes such as conversion, crusade, hybridity, identity, Indigeneity, legends, medievalism, nationalism, otherness, religious beliefs, and trade.
