More and more self-employed people have a history of migration, while at the same time migrants are poorly represented within professional bodies. How can the participation of migrants in these bodies be increased? Taking the situation in North Rhine-Westphalia as an example, the study uses interviews, legal analyses and literature research to identify measures to break down barriers and promote participation.
