            Abstract
            Die lateinische Bibel, in den ersten christlichen Jahrhunderten entstanden und zu einem großen Teil von Hieronymus um das Jahr 400 geschaffen, ist das bedeutendste Literaturwerk des abendländischen Christentums. Bis heute wirkt es in Theologie, kirchlichem Leben, Kunst und Literatur nach. Der vorliegende Band versammelt rund hundert thematische Essays von mehr als dreißig Expertinnen und Experten aus dem Bereich der Vulgata- Forschung, die sich in systematischer Anordnung zu einem Vulgata-Handbuch zusammenfügen. Biographische, linguistische, exegetische, kirchen- und kulturgeschichtliche Fragen werden ebenso umfassend wie zugänglich erörtert, so dass auch Leserinnen und Leser, die des Lateins nicht (oder nicht mehr) mächtig sind, in dem Werk Erstaunliches, Erbauliches, Belehrendes und immer wieder auch Vergnügliches finden.

            Export search results
