            Abstract
            Differing from previous research approaches, the parodies of the Viennese popular theatres can be considered as a genre of theatre practice which allows to demonstrate the conditions of production for playwrights in the early 19th century. The book comprises a study and a critical edition of a selective corpus of popular theatre parodies.
             
            Die Parodien des Wiener Vorstadttheaters im 19. Jahrhundert sind als theaterpraktische Texte anzusehen, die auf das Unterhaltungsbedürfnis einer Großstadt ausgerichtet waren. Begrenzte sich ihre Lektüre bisher auf die komische Bearbeitung einer prominenten Vorlage, so lassen sich an den Stücken die Produktionsbedingungen ihrer Autoren an den gewinnorientierten Privattheatern in sozioökonomischen Krisenzeiten aufzeigen. Das Buch umfasst eine Studie und die kritische Edition eines ausgewählten Textkorpus, das die an den Vorstadtbühnen parodierten Genres repräsentiert.

            Export search results
