Abstract

This book deals with memories of Atlantic slavery in museums, in the public space, and at historic sites in France and Spain, the early colonial powers, as well as in the overseas department of Martinique and independent Cuba. The author investigates the topography of memory and the social context of sites of memory by applying oral history methods.
