Abstract

This volume examines the category of space on the basis of texts from seventeenth-century Chinese philosophy and art theory. The epistemological reconstructions and analyses of example sources in this volume present notions of space at the interfaces of Chinese scholars’ reflections on reality, the universe, human knowledge, linguistic and visual powers of expression.
