Abstract
The volume examines Lucretius’ connection to Epicurus, probing whether he merely echoed Epicurus’ teachings or offered original insights. It reconstructs the Epicurean criterion of truth in De rerum natura, evaluating Lucretius’ grasp of contemporary discourse and his innovative contributions, revealing his philosophical engagement beyond Epicurean confines.
