ItalianAbstract
The essay explores the concept of the “price” of cultural heritage in the digital age, distinguishing between the materiality of the physical object and the immateriality of its image. It examines the tension between the right to access and the notion of ownership, with particular focus on the digital dissemination of images. The role of technologies such as artificial intelligence in the creation and circulation of images raises critical issues, exemplified by the cases of Michelangelo’s David and the Vitruvian Man. The need emerges for recognizing a subjective right to immaterial access, balancing the protection of authenticity with collective enjoyment of cultural heritage.
