The article explores the discovery of a ‘second intellectual pole’ for the writer Luigi Meneghello, identified in post-war England. Thanks to a British Council scholarship, Meneghello undergoes a profound intellectual and cultural transformation, embracing a new perspective of authenticity and simplicity that contrasts with Italian rhetorical style. Through the influence of English mentors, such as Donald Gordon, Meneghello learns the importance of clear and direct prose, fostering a cultural osmosis between Italy and England that permeates his works.
