This fourth NAFOL book is yet another important contribution to the knowledge field about and for teacher education. Like earlier NAFOL books, it contains a collection of research articles on value and validity in teacher education research that crosses national borders, academic disciplines, and not least levels of education—from kindergarten to upper secondary school and doctoral training. With articles from England, Austria, Italy, Iceland, and Norway, the book offers insights into contemporary international teacher education research, particularly as data have been collected from Belarus and across Europe. In this book as well, we have chosen to keep the original language of the articles, and we are pleased to see more Norwegian researchers joining the international research community by writing in English. At the same time, it is important to safeguard Norwegian as a language of research communication, and the book seeks to strike a balance between international and national dissemination. There is great diversity in both research topics and research methods, which characterizes the field. NAFOL is central to this positive development with its more than 200 former and current doctoral fellows. The NAFOL books—and especially this one—offer a good picture of today’s teacher education research. NAFOL’s work and contributions are known far beyond Norway, and this book symbolizes the international dialogue on teacher education research in which NAFOL actively participates. The book is a unique resource for researchers who wish to stay updated on Norwegian and international teacher education research.
